We gather to praise God on Sunday mornings by praying the Sunday Morning Prayer of the Church. We are joining with Pope Francis and all our Bishops, all the Churches throughout the world, monasteries, male and female religious communities, priests, deacons and individual Christians throughout the world who begin the day by praising God. The main content of the prayers is taken from the Book of Psalms. Every deacon and priest makes a promise on the day of his ordination to pray these prayers (called the Divine Office) throughout every day for the needs of the Church and the world. This means we pray at least four different times a day – Morning, Mid-Day, Evening, and Nighttime. It is so beautiful. As the earth rotates on its axis, and as the day passes, the Church makes sure that the Lord is remembered through Her praise.
We invite and encourage everyone to join us at 8:30am for this prayer. You do not have to bring anything. The booklets are provided. You do not have to know what to do – a priest or parishioner will assist you. Just sit near someone who has a booklet. It only lasts 15 minutes but it sets your whole day and week aright.
